Meaghan with her hubby... :-)

A native of Alexandria, VA, Meaghan's passion for dance was sparked early on in life. At the age of two, her parents took her with them to a Chieftain's concert where there was also featured the current World Champion Step Dancer. As legend will tell it, after watching the dancer onstage, Meaghan quickly took to the aisle and began trying to imitate his moves. The rest it seems, as the cliche says, is history.

In the summer of 1998 Meaghan began acting in local musical theatre, where she quickly discovered that the dance aspect was the most important thing she cared about. While she had not yet taken formal dance lessons with any company, she didn't let that stop her, and usually landed dancing roles in these productions. Two years later, she gave up acting for good and began devoting her time to numerous dance classes throughout the DC area. Her first formal dance training began with renowned swing dance instructors in the D.C. area, Tom Koerner and Debra Sternberg. Meaghan spent many a Saturday night with friends at the historic Spanish Ballroom swing dancing to live authentic-sounding bands and dressed in 1940's garb.
While swing dancing was a tremendous amount of fun, it was ballet that eventually stole Meaghan's heart, or, feet. Ballet was where Meaghan's heart was, and still is. It was challenging, it was poetic, it was beautiful, but above all, it was fun. (Although, Scottish Highland dance would be a very close rival!) She credits her outstanding teachers, especially Leigh Ann Tahash, at the Joy of Motion Dance Center in D.C. for sharing their passion for dance with her and inspiring her to never quit dancing. Since then, Meaghan started training at various other studios as well, taking classes ranging in styles from jazz, swing, modern, stretch, hip hop, Irish, etc. and of course, continuing ballet.
During the summer of 2006, Meaghan attended the Dance Masters of America Teacher's Training School in Buffalo, NY, and successfully completed level one of their training program and is currently in the process of becoming a certified teacher.

When Meaghan is not dancing with her troupe mates or managing the webspace, she avidly enjoys photography, drumming, ice hockey, music, costuming, the outdoors, and above all, spending time with her wonderful husband.
God bless!
